The workshop also includes two panel discussions, a chance to connect with vendors virtually, information for classified and certificated staff, and a Bookshop. Often storytimes exclude children with autism and other learning disabilities and now with distance learning, sensory storytime has become even more challenging. Knowing the right strategies help ease the anxiety of our students, the librarian, and staff. Understanding what autism is and being flexible can make all the difference in a successful sensory storytime in-person and virtually. Sensory storytimes strategies are for all ages with a focus on preschool to 5th grades. You will learn how to engage students through pictures books, music, movement, and play in person and virtually.
