SR: Fall Into Books with CSLA Southern Region

 


Join us for this FREE virtual event on Saturday, November 13th! Featured speakers include Deb Ford-Salyer, Allison Crotzer Kimmel, and Francisco X. Stork.

Francisco X. Stork is the award-winning author of nine novels, including the five-star reviewed Marcelo in the Real World, and the highly praised The Memory of Light.


Allison Crotzer Kimmel is the acclaimed author of exemplary, non-fiction books, including Unbeatable Betty: Betty Robinson, the First Female Olympic Track & Field Gold Medalist, and The Montgomery Bus Boycott: A Primary Source Exploration of the Protest for Equal Treatment (We Shall Overcome).


Deborah Ford-Salyer is an award-winning library media specialist; former District Librarian for San Diego Unified Schools; a highly sought-after international presenter; the CA Implementation and Training Specialist for the state-funded K12 Digital Project for TeachingBooks.net; and, the author of numerous books including, What’s NEW in Children’s Books and Creative, Powerful Strategies to Use Them in Your Program (2020).

Registrants will have the ability to attend the 2 sessions they prefer! (The Zoom links to all of the sessions will be emailed to you.) For instance, those interested in the elementary-level sessions can attend Best Books with Deb Ford-Salyer from 10:20-11:20 (Elementary Session 1) and then, the author session with Allison Crotzer Kimmel from 11:45 -12:45 (Session 2). Registrants who are interested in the secondary-level sessions can attend the author session with Francisco X. Stork from 10:20-11:20 (Secondary Session 1) and the Best Books with Deb Ford-Salyer from 11:45-12:45 (Session 2).

Fall Into Books with CSLA South Region is open to members as well as non-members of the California School Library Association. (We hope you will consider joining CSLA or renewing your membership.) Certificated and classified library staff, teachers, reading specialists, and administrators are all welcome to attend.
